A pool, spa, or hot tub is a tempting amenity when you’re in the market for a new home, especially if you have children. The professionals at ProTech Home & Property Inspections, Inc. can ascertain if the pool is in good condition by adding a pool inspection to your pre-purchase home inspection.
Our Pool and Spa Inspection Process
Nothing is better than jumping in your pool during the hot summer. However, if you forgo a pool inspection, your first party could be a huge flop. Our inspectors will assess the condition of the pool, assuring everything is safe and in working order. Below are some of the things we evaluate:
- Pool equipment
- Pool / Spa pumps
- Pool / Spa controls
- Pool heaters
- Pool electrical systems
- Pool enclosure and gates
- Pool safety systems
According to the CDC, drowning is the cause of approximately ten deaths per day. Twenty percent (or two of ten) of victims are children under age fourteen. Drowning consistently ranks fifth on a list of unintentional injury deaths in the United States. For every child death from drowning there are five more children that receive emergency room care including nonfatal pool related injuries that many times result in long term disabilities such as mild to severe brain damage, memory problems. In 2009, thirty percent of child deaths between ages one and four were caused by drowning.
The majority of problems we’ve found have been faulty electrical connections and pool enclosures that don’t meet Georgia State and local community standards.
